How it works, start to finish
Three steps from the outside. Here is what happens at each one.
Collision repair at GTR Collision Houston runs the same way for every car: a free written estimate first, then the repair, then a walkthrough at pickup. You can start by phone, by sending photos through this site, or by bringing the car to 9229 Bissonnet Street. If the car cannot be driven, a tow can be arranged at any hour and brought straight to the shop.
Once you approve the estimate, the car is taken apart far enough to see everything the hit damaged. Anything found behind the panels is photographed and written up as a supplement for your insurer before that work starts. Frame pulls, body work, paint and the mechanical repairs a collision leaves behind all happen in this one shop, and any driver-assistance camera or sensor the repair touched is recalibrated here before the car goes back to you.
How it works
Three steps, start to finish.

Walk in, call, or text photos of the damage. We look it over and tell you what we see before anything gets touched.

Body work, frame straightening, paint matching, whatever the damage calls for. One shop handles the whole job.

We walk you through what was done before you drive off. Ask questions. That is what we are there for.
What to expect at each point
Drop-off
You bring the car to the shop on Bissonnet Street with your claim number and the adjuster's estimate, if you have one. A technician at GTR Collision Houston walks the damage with you and confirms what happens next before anything comes apart.
Teardown
Bumper covers, trim, and damaged panels come off so a technician can see the brackets, mounts, and structural rails a visual look could not show. This is where hidden damage usually turns up.
Insurance supplement
Anything found during teardown gets photographed and written up as a supplement, then sent to your insurer for approval before that added work starts.
Paint and calibration
Repaired panels are painted to match the rest of the car. Any camera or sensor in the bumper or windshield is then recalibrated in-house before reassembly finishes.
Pickup
You get walked through what was done before you drive off. Ask about anything you see on the invoice or notice on the car.
Questions about the process
A technician walks the visible damage with you and confirms the plan before anything is touched. Bring your claim number and the adjuster's estimate if you have one. That estimate becomes the starting point for the shop's own written estimate.
Yes, clear out electronics, parking passes, and anything in the glovebox or trunk before you hand over the keys. The car gets taken apart during teardown, and interior trim and panels may come off along the way.
Only repairs that involve a camera or sensor in the bumper or windshield need it. Calibration resets those systems so features like lane assist and automatic braking read the road correctly again. It happens in-house before the car goes back to you.
Yes, walk in, call, or send photos of the damage. A technician can often tell you what the car needs from photos alone before you even bring it in.
The shop documents the new damage and sends a supplement to your insurer before doing that work. You hear about it too, not just the insurance company. Nothing extra gets repaired without that approval.
